SMTP (Outgoing E-mail) Authentication setup

For your protection if you're going to be using C2G Media Group for sending e-mail through Outlook, etc. follow the steps below to setup SMTP Authentication. This enables our outgoing email server to confirm that it's you who is trying to send out mail and does not allow SPAMMERS's, etc. to send out mass emailing's in your name.

The steps below are for the SMTP (Outgoing E-mail) Authentication setup for Outlook. You'll only need to set up Authentication once in your Outlook or Outlook Express, etc. and then you're all set to send mail.

  1. Go to the top of Outlook and click on ‘Tools’
  2. Go down and click on ‘E-mail accounts’
  3. Double click on your email account (or click ‘view’ or ‘change’ email account)
  4. Make sure your Outgoing Server setting is mail.yourdomainname.com (or .net, etc.)
  5. Now click on ‘More settings’ in the bottom right of that window
  6. Click on the ‘Outgoing Server’ tab at the top of that window
  7. Check (or select) ‘My outgoing server requires authentication’
  8. Check (or select) ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server’
  9. Click on Advanced and make sure Outgoing port is set to 26 (or try 25)
  10. Click ok and then next or ok to finish
  11. Close and reopen Outlook and send a test email to confirm its working
